We are proud to offer our truly aqua-cultured live MarcoRock. This is sold by 10 lb increments. The product was born by us placing over 10,000 lbs of various types of our dry MarcoRock (ReefSaver, Hybrid, Shelf, Double side cut) in our 15,000g Saltwater pool back in 2024. While future harvesting will most likely need 4-6 months to color up, this rock really has been maturing for all this time. The rock is now nicely covered with various shades of Coralline algae. For the most part only the top part is colored. We have begun turning inventory over so that both sides look more mature. Please note though that this is a single side "purple" surface.
Benefits include rapid cycling, greatly reduced "ugly" stage and the introduction of cool reef life such as sponges, corals and a diversity of beneficial bacteria.
This rock is housed in the same system as our Florida Maricultured live rock. While Florida Keys rock is known for being quite pest free, there is always a chance of introducing unwanted animals or algae into your system. To combat this, MarcoRocks takes a three step approach. Once home in the MR greenhouse systems, each rock is closely inspected to remove any undesirable marine life. It is then closely monitored and inspected once again prior to shipping.
Perfect for adding some life to an existing system or for jumpstarting a new one. Feel free to mix with any other dry or live rock.
You will receive a variety of different shapes. Our staff will be picking out pieces to fulfill orders based on what looks best. You might get some ReefSaver or shelf or both! In the future we might offer the different types of rocks as individual skus.
Shipping- Rock this nice deserves the same treatment that corals do. Because this product is truly live we only ship it overnight. While it is packed to stay live and fresh for a minimum of 48 hours, by shipping it next day air, we can target the shortest duration between our system and yours. The rock ships bagged, wet and in a reusable thermally protected box. Note that a bit of color loss is normal over the course of the first week as the rock adjusts to life in an aquarium.
Some examples of what to expect. Some pieces of rock will have more coralline coverage than others but we will not be packing anything without a decent amount of live coralline on the top side.
Whats even better? The shipping is included.
