Aqua-Cultured Live MarcoRock®

We are proud to offer our truly aqua-cultured Live MarcoRock®, available in 10 lb increments with FREE overnight shipping.

This unique product began in 2024 when we placed more than 10,000 pounds of various MarcoRock® types—including ReefSaver®, Hybrid, Shelf, and Double-Sided Cut rock—into our 15,000-gallon saltwater cultivation system. While future harvests may require only 4–6 months to develop coloration, this rock has been maturing in our system for much longer, allowing it to establish a rich biological foundation.

Today, the rock is naturally covered with multiple shades of coralline algae and populated with beneficial marine life. Most pieces currently exhibit coralline growth primarily on their upper surfaces, as that is where the strongest light exposure occurs. We have begun regularly rotating inventory to encourage more complete coverage, but customers should expect the most vibrant coloration on one side of each piece.

Quality Control & Pest Management

This rock is cultured in the same system as our Florida maricultured live rock. While Florida Keys rock is generally known for being relatively pest-free, any live rock carries some risk of introducing unwanted algae or hitchhiking organisms.

To minimize this risk, MarcoRocks employs a three-step quality control process:

1. Each rock is carefully inspected upon entering our greenhouse systems.
2. Undesirable organisms are manually removed whenever identified.
3. Every piece is inspected again prior to shipment.

While no live rock can ever be guaranteed completely pest-free, we take extensive measures to provide the cleanest and highest-quality product possible.

Whether you're jumpstarting a new reef tank or adding biodiversity and visual appeal to an established system, Live MarcoRock® is an excellent choice. It can be used on its own or mixed with any dry rock or live rock structure.

Each order contains a variety of shapes and sizes selected by our team based on overall appearance and quality. Depending on availability, your shipment may include ReefSaver®, Shelf, Hybrid, or other MarcoRock® varieties. In the future, we may offer individual rock types as separate products.

Shipping

Rock this special deserves the same care as live coral.

Because this is a truly live product, all orders ship via overnight service. Although the rock is packed to remain healthy and viable for at least 48 hours, overnight shipping minimizes transit time and maximizes the condition of the rock upon arrival.

Each order is shipped:

• Wet and bagged
• Insulated in a reusable thermal shipping container
• Carefully packed to preserve biological activity and coralline algae

Please note that some temporary color loss is normal during the first week after introduction to an aquarium as the rock adjusts to its new environment.

What to Expect

Every piece is unique. Some rocks will display heavier coralline coverage than others, but we do not ship pieces that lack substantial coralline growth on their exposed surfaces.
